40. Turn Body with Big Strokes'
(l) Shift the weight backward and turn the upper they slightly to the right, toes of the left foot outward. Open the left fist and turn both palms to the right simultaneously and move them slightly backward. Look forward. (Fig. 2ll)
(2) Turn the upper body to the left, land the left foot, shift the weight forward, and move the right foot forward to the inner side of the left foot (feet parallel and about 10 centimeters apart). Raise the body slightly upward and keep the weight on the left leg. Raise both palms to shoulder level, the right palm up, and the left palm bent in front and outward. Look at the right palm. (Figs. 2l2-2l3)
(3) Pivot on the ball of foot of the right foot, heel outward, bend the knee to squat and shift the weight to the right leg. Turn the upper body to the left and move the left foot backward (northwest). As the body turns, pu1l both palms horizontally to the front of the body in a gentle stroke, the right Palm extended southeast to shou1der level and the left palm stopping at the inner side of the right elbow, palms facing each other Oblique. Look at the right palm. (Figs. 2l4-2l5)
(4) Continue to turn the upper body to the left, shift the weight to the left leg, heel of the right foot turned outward to form a side bow step. As the body turns, pull both palms to the left horizontally in a gentle stroke, and at the same time gradually clench fists. Then relax the waist and drop the shoulders. Turn the left forearm outward and withdraw the left fist to the waist, knuckles down, while turning the right forearm outward and dropping the elbow, right fist at chest level in front. Bend the right arm into a curve, knuckles oblique forward. look at the right fist. (Figs. 2l6 (A) and 2l6 (B))
Points for attention: The steps, body turns and hand movements should be well connected and coordinated, with the waist as the axis. Face due south after the feet are placed together, and face southeast after moving the step backward, with the rear foot oblique facing northeast. In the final position, face northeast to form the side bow step (feet parallel forward, the same width as the bow step, left leg bent and right leg straightened), bend and drop the elbows. The head follows the body's turn.
