What is Independent stance (standing on one foot)

Independent stance (standing on one foot): Place the left tiptoe forward and slightly outward, knee slightly bent , hips and waist slightly turned to the left, face front and weight on the left leg. Raise the right knee until the thigh is parallel to the ground, with the shank drooping, the ankle straight and the tiptoe turned slightly inward. Change legs and repeat the exercise.(Fig. 4-9)
