From viewing the first DVD of the set, this promises to be an immensely detailed and informative set of DVDs that have the added bonus of being beautifully filmed. It comes the closest I have yet seen to providing a complete course from beginner to advanced level on DVD

It is introduced by Zhang Zhijun. I was bowled over by the quality of information given by Zhang Zhijun in the first couple of minutes. Most of the DVD (remember I am still talking about the first disc) is given over to detailed demonstrations of the form and its individual moves. This is quality stuff, but as someone who doesn't know much Chen style I was more interested in the applications. There are applications demonstrated for several moves mostly as in push hands. These are well demonstrated - not the fast and flashy stagy demonstrations but good solid applications taught in a way that you can follow what is being done. You get the feeling that Zhang Zhijun really wants you to understand and he is very direct.

As it says on the cover- 'abundant content, novel theory and consummate skill.' Highly recommended for all Chen practitioners and for advanced practitioners of other styles
