Description: The exercise of Xinggong Taiji Ball is in order to help to raise the strength of Taijiquan, which is both good for healthy or the skill of combat. When exercising the Taiji ball, it's principal for fill Dantian with internal energy, studying storing and applying, making the ball turning around by Dantian, a foot under navel, it called from inside to outside, after studying hard, there takes shape a Taiji ball in the belly, and this called from outside to inside, and the coordination energy between inside and outside can be shown as "Dantian twines itself". The master, a 19th generation Chen family member uses a 13kg black metal tai chi ball and he says that originally it is reputed they used a 60kg ball! We recommend starting with a medicine ball in the 5 - 10kg range. It feels really heavy at first but you quickly get used to it. Even using something as light as a football you can get a lot out of these exercises (or fill it with sand for more weight). If you start to drop it, just let go and get out of the way! Medicine balls or bowling balls have been suggested for this exercise and you can get balls for £30- £50 depending on weight. The DVD is demonstrated and explained by Chen Qingzhou.
